Aiwass is a spirit (or family of spirits),
appearing as three identical figures. They
wear a green suit and a large, mushroom-like
headpiece, probably ment to resemble phalluses.
On March 18, 1904, the first contact with
the Aiwass was reported. Rose Kelly,
Aleister Crowley's wife, started to
receive communications from the
astral plane, in which she was told
to contact the Egyptian god Horus.
Crowley contacted Horus' messenger,
the Aiwass, whom Crowley considered to be
his "true self", or
guardian angel. Over the next few
days Kelly took dictations from
the Aiwass while in a trance.
The result was Liber Al,
better known as The Book of the Law.
