A modification of
Isaac Asimov's original
Three Laws of Robotics, invented by Roger MacBride Allen. They
are discussed in the "Isaac Asimov's
Utopia" series of books set in an Asimovian
universe.
Robots which
follow the New Laws are less
slaves and more equal
partners of
humans. The New Laws are:
1. No
robot may
harm a human being.
2. All robots shall
cooperate with human beings as long as that doesn't
conflict with the New First Law.
3. A robot must
protect its own
existence as long as that doesn't conflict with the New First Law.
4. A robot may do anything it likes, as long as that doesn't conflict with any of the first three New Laws.
