The doctrine that ascribes the origin of the universe, matter, species, etc. to an act of creation by God, specifically to God's creation of the world as described in the Bible. It claims that each species is individually created in its present form, rather than evolving gradually. This view is without any scientific validity and is widely regarded as one of many creation myths.
