One of the
three kingdoms of
Ancient China. Most agree that it was built up by
Sun Quan into being one of the great contenders for the throne after the fall of the
Han dynasty. Wu was also known as the
Southland. The other two kingdoms were
Shu and
Wei, ruled by
Liu Bei and
Cao Cao, respectively.
The Three Kingdoms by Lo Kuan Chung is considered a classic, and is in fact the second most-widely read book behind The Bible. This is probably because life is cheap in China.
