The fried chicken prepared in Albertsons local service deli. It's not as good as Kentucky Fried Chicken, obviously, but at $3.99 for 8 pieces (sometimes more, sometimes less) and you can usually get 50 or so pieces for about $22, it's good enough for me.

What probably sets it apart from KFC is the amount of grease present in every cubic inch. There's enough to keep you licking the roof of your mouth if you wait a few minutes to let the grease congeal. I once worked at one store that had been around for 20 or 30 years, and the grease had left a fine filter on the floor for about 30 feet around. The deli was in poor condition, and the closer you got to the deep fryer the more obvious the grease was. Employees beware.

I often speculated that if there were a way to peel off the grease of ages past, there could be some unknown bacterial strain lurking under it all. Fortunately, I don't think the technology exists to get all that grease out of the floor tiles.
