The name kuro5hin (and other Scoop sites) uses for postings that were made by anonymous users or those unwilling to register. This way, anonymous users are supposed to be encouraged to write insightful comments and to submit interesting stories. To a degree, it seems to work, but that may also be due to Rusty's strict anti-troll-policy.
