A late night talk show host and sometimes actor in the late 1980s and early 90s. He popularized the thing where you make a fist and hold it just above the side of your head and make a circular motion with it while going "whoof whoof" or "whoo whoo" (depending on if you were to lazy to pronounce the f) over and over again. It was a type of applause. The only popular African American late night talk show host I have ever seen. People really liked him when he was hot and mocked and forgot him quickly afterwards.
