The fourth and most recent of the Vedas, and the only one that is based substantially on Pre-Vedic India. The Atharva Veda concerns magic spells. The spells are usually divided in to the bheshajani (positive) and the abhichara (negative) spells. The Atharva Veda is also the second largest, after the Rig. The Atharva Veda was not regarded as a Veda until relatively recently.
