Barry's band in the movie High Fidelity had a few names. They were on the verge of becoming known as Kathleen Turner Overdrive, but instead opted for this more funky moniker. Could it be a reference to Billy Joel and His Uptown Girl song? Who knows? Maybe Nick Hornby does.
