Bayou Kitchen is the best place to get
breakfast in
Portland, ME. While the food has a
cajun theme, you can get regular breakfast food (
pancakes,
eggs,
etc.) too. They keep a huge selection of
hot sauce on the counter, including my beloved
Cholula.
One of the best things about the place is the fresh-baked muffins. They have different muffins available every day, but pray that they have Grandma's Coffee Cake Muffins if you go there. The woman who runs the place told me that if I call her the night before I stop in, she'd bake them for me. How's that for friendly service?
