CMF also stands for Career Management Field, an Army term for a group of MOS that are generally related by function. For example, all the infantry MOS are in CMF 11, the engineer MOS in CMF 12, and so on. Usually MOS in the same CMF will have the same numbers as the CMF, but this is not always the case, as in the case of CMF 98, which included MOS in the 05 and 33 series.
