What follows is a rough transcript of the final radio communications between the sinking Titanic and other ships in the area at the time of the disaster. I've compiled this transcript based on various sources. Many references are filled with gaps in communication, so I've filled them in as best I can.
You'll see a lot of abbreviation. Most of the three-letter designators are ship callsigns - MGY being the Titanic. CQD was the standard distress call for the period (CQ meaning "attention all ships" and D meaning distress.) When you see a callsign followed by another callsign, that is one ship addressing the other. ("MKC MGY" means "Olympic calling Titanic". "MGY CQD" means "Titanic calling all ships - distress".)
For your own reference, the actual time the Titanic struck the iceberg was recorded as 11:40pm on April 14 1912. The time the Titanic finally went under was 2:20am April 15. Parenthesis show sending and/or receiving stations. Times are approximate, based on timestamps on the transmissions.
