A dominoes-like game invented by Ed Pegg, based on a pair of geometric shapes he discovered. These shapes, two equilateral but not equiangular pentagons, are each divided into a triangle and a quadrilateral by a line roughly across the middle, and each side contains a single spot of some color. The shapes have the names kay and vek, mnemonic for concave and convex.

The two shapes combine to form many beautifully chaotic-looking patterns. Ed has yet to determine if the shapes tile the plane, periodically or not.

Ed has invented several games that can be played with the tiles. For more information, including rules for the games, visit his website, www.mathpuzzle.com.
