Lead singer of Pere Ubu, formerly known as Crocus Behemoth when he founded Rocket from the Tombs. He has a warbly strange voice not afraid to be off-key. In fact he is often gleefully off-key, which makes him a good match for the strange twiddles and bleeps of Pere Ubu's keyboardist Allen Ravenstine.

Thomas has put out about a dozen solo recordings including The Sound of the Sand and Other Songs of the Pedestrians with Richard Thompson.
