Microsoft's incredibly innovative way of stopping piracy is to write this on all CD-ROM discs. They have done this for as long as I can remember, and it still makes me laugh.

"Aw, rats, I was planning on making illegal copies, but you've convinced me not to."

As I was installing Windows with my friend's OEM disc, I read this, and it stuck me as odd, beyond the obvious meekness of the message. Why would someone ever want to waste a CDR copying these? Between your workplace/home/school/friends/relatives, there are probably tons of Windows discs lying around, probably still in their OEM shrink-wrap. The ubiquity of Windows install discs is second only to AOL CDs.

Something else occurred to me... wouldn't it be funny if, per se, Metallica printed a similar message on their next album?
