A class of logical fallacies involving generalizations. A statistical generalization is one that is usually true but not always. For example, "Frat boys drink to excess." Sometimes, 'most' or 'generally' are used to indicate a statistical generalization.

When a statistical generalization is treated as a universal generalization, logical errors occur.
