Founded somewhere around 1964 as the Golden Earrings, a typical 'beat' group, they had a string of national hits, some of which match the best of the Hollies (That day, A little bit of piece in my heart). In 1969, after changes of personnel, they became a more 'serious' rock band, as shown by the wonderful song Where will I be, but their first international success was achieved with Radar love. The real international breakthough never came, but they're still together, touring, making records, and occasionally enjoying chart success.
