A hexagon can be tiled together with a bunch of other hexagons to form a nice pattern. And while things like circles (or tubes) are structurally sturdier, they waste space. This is why bees build honeycombs into hexagons; they're sturdy, and don't waste any space. Wonder how many generations it took them to figure that one out.

The perimeter for a regular polyhedron is s * n where s is the length of a side and n is the number of sides.

Hexagons fit well into society due to their shining personality. They like to stay in shape.

Geometric shapes

The Hexagon is a commonly used term for metropolitan France (i.e. the part in continental Europe) although it's usually written in French, as L'Hexagone. You can see the approximate shape of a hexagon if you look at a map of France; there are six sharp angles along its border.

The six sides of the French Hexagon are:
1. Spain
2. The Mediterranean Sea
3. Italy and Switzerland
4. Germany, Belgium, and Luxembourg
5. The English Channel (La Manche in French)
6. The Atlantic Ocean

L'Hexagone is roughly equivalent to "America" as a replacement for the United States. For example, recently there was a party near Grenoble called "Hexagona", and it featured DJs from all over France.
