If you had been raised on a diet of Penelope Spheeris movies and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Hollywood punks are what you'd think all punks were. They're the stereotypical punks with egg or glue in their artficially colored hair, wearing tight pants, fishnets, combat boots, lots of plaid and neon, adorned with all sorts of studs and safety pins and bondage straps.

Since counterculture accessories like those mentioned above are so easy to come by these days, kids dressed as Hollywood punks are all over the place. They can be distinguished from goth kids by their makeup, which resembles that of The Misfits (Jem and the Holograms' rival band, not the band fronted by Danzig). You will often find them in clumps in back of all ages shows or walking around your town playing truant.

Gosh, kids, used to be punks knew how to laugh at themselves.
