Acronym: IFV. Basically a badass version of APC (Armored Personnel Carrier), with generally more armor and better weaponry. In other words, a light tank capable of carrying infantry. IFVs are often armed with light cannons, machine guns or anti-tank missiles. Their main role is transporting and supporting infantry. A few examples are the Russian BMP-1 and BMP-2, the US M2 Bradley and the German Marder.
