James Jesus Angleton served as Director of Counter-intelligence at the CIA from 1954-1974, when he was removed from his position due to his involvement in the P2 conspiracy in Italy.

He was an obsessive mole hunter, and was one of the main backers of Anatoli Golitsin's statements about the existence of a KGB Super-mole. On top of that, he is believed by many conspiracy theorists to be the mastermind behind the John F. Kennedy assassination, possibly because he believed that JFK was Sasha?
