A traditional Belgian cheese, Maredsous is made by the monks of Maredsous Abbey.

The cow's milk cheese is formed into logs and pressed in brine. It matures with a firm orange rind with a pungent aroma, and is served as a table cheese. It has a fat content of 45%.
