The Maryland Transit Administration administers and provides passenger and freight services throughout the state of Maryland.

Passenger rail service includes light rail, the Maryland Rail Commuter service, and the Baltimore metro. The MTA also supervises local and commuter bus services, and neighborhood shuttle service in some regions.
