A building at Harvard University that was erected to honor Harvard affiliates who had died fighting in the Civil War. Confederates casualties were included after some soul-searching. Its Victorian Gothic design is so ugly&that it's also beautiful. The tower burned down a zillion years ago, the staff at the fire station across the street having taken hours to respond to the alarm. It is finally being rebuilt this year.
