Noble Shirley is a biennial joint US/Israel live-fire defense exercise held in the southern Negev Desert area of Israel. The exercise involves several thousand US marines, as well as Israeli Defense Forces. It is an amphibious exercise, involving long-range helicopter raids, and is held in July and December.

The 2001 exercise was cancelled by the Pentagon in May, because of increasing terrorist activity.
