The Encyclopedia Mythica: Mesopotamian Mythology yeilds:

A winged demon, feared by the people of ancient Mesopotamia. It is a creature with a deformed head, the wings of an eagle, the sharp claws of a lion on its hands and feet, and the tail of a scorpion. This demon is the personification of the south-east storm wind, which brings diseases. The Mesopotamians believed that Pazuzu lived in the desert.

Pazuzu, the "king of the evil wind demons," was not entirely unfriendly to mankind. As an enemy of the dreaded Lamashtu demon, bearer of sickness especially to women and children, Pazuzu is often portrayed on amulets used as protection in childbirth.

Regained a resurgence in notoriety (if not actual faith inspired terror), in the movie Exorcist 2 - The Heretic, as the next demon in line to have a crack at the ever ripe for possession Linda Blair. Also possesses the youthful aspect of a character played by James Earl Jones, but naturally JEJ is too cool to be held back too long by that.

Since demons are k3w1, it's no small wonder that there is an Australian death metal band destroying their tortured vocal cords under the name of Pazuzu.

...only hollwood and long hair keeps the demons alive...
