The moon (Mohammed) has risen on us.

From the mountains of good byes.

It is compulsory on us to give thanks.

We have no one to pray to but Allah.

Oh messenger upon us!

You came with the orders that we must fulfil.

You came and honored Madina.

We have no one to pray to but Allah.

----

This was a poem that was sung by the children and elders of Madina when Mohammed made his Hijrah from Mekkah to Medina upon his arrival at dawn time with his companions. Madinah is surrounded by mountains which historically made it fortified against military strikes, the mountains of good byes is the only opening and it was called so because the people of Madina say their good byes to their friends and relatives at this entry and exit point.
