Musician - Irish traditional music.

Born in 1969 in Hatboro, Philadelphia, of Irish parents. The family returned to Ireland when he was five.

He won his four All Ireland titles (flute, whistle, mandolin, banjo) and released his first album "Traditional Music of Ireland" when he was sixteen. He has played with the bands "The Chanting House" and "The Green Fields of America" before forming "Solas" with John Doyle, Winnifred Horan, John Williams and Karan Casey in 1995. Seamus Egan is first and foremost a virtuouso simple system flute and tenor banjo player. He plays with reckless abandon in live concerts and when you think there was no place to go, he turns it up another notch.
