This
album was released in
1972 while
Nilsson Schmilsson was still on the charts. It hit #12, spent 31 weeks on the
chart, and went
gold.
Many of the songs were a little more than many fans expected, especially
You're Breaking My Heart, which has to be one of the best
love songs I've ever heard, but has some rather
startling (and a particular word
censored on
radio) lyrics. Some, like
Turn On Your Radio have the
velvet vocals fans were craving and
At My Front Door has a nice quick
tempo.
This is my favorite
Nilsson album and I am fond of nearly all of the
songs. It's hard for me to choose a
favorite, but Spaceman narrowly takes top honors.
