Well, you just started playing, and wouldn't you know it?
The first block you get looks like this:
..oo..
...oo.
The vast majority of players are incompetent, so most of
them simply put it down then slide another block under it
like this:
.......
.......
.......
.o.....
oox....
oxxx...
This may be a good
strategy if you are playing with no specials, however, this has the
potential to slow you down greatly and give other people an advantage of five or six pieces over you.
A better strategy is this:
Step 1 Step 2 etcetera Which leaves
............ ............ ..........o. ............
............ ............ ..........oo ............
............ ............ ...........o ............
............ ...x........ ...x....v... ..........o.
oo.......... ooxx........ ooxxv***vvv. ...x....v.oo
.oo......... .oox........ .ooxvvv*#### .ooxvvv*####
It's better to do this because it's faster, although the first step closes off the first line, this is irrelevant because you're going to clear the second line first, you want to get as many specials as fast as possible, and this is a very good way to do it.
