A few states in the United States have state owned liquor stoes that directly profit from anything sold in the store. This is economical espicially if the state has a liquor tax.

One interesting state is New Hampshire, which has its state liquor stores situated directly on the highway, within 10 miles of the boarder of Massachusetts. These stores has exit ramps build especially so you can drive right into the parking lot, without really leaving the highway. This seems like a great way to premote drunk driving.
