Strange currencies are often found on FurryMUCK. Rather than be content with boring old pennies, the MUCK has a mayor whose job is to change the name of the currency regularly, usually daily.

Usually they are funny or topical or interact with a default message in an interesting way. Examples from the past:

• Parking spaces. ("You found a parking space!")
• Gray hair.
• Children. ("You have 2589 children.")
• Walter Matthau memorial pennies.
• Light pennies. ("You have 2589 fewer calories.")
• Half-eaten jars of peanut butter. --Today's currency
