You've probably heard of Gnuttela. It's that nifty, distributed, combination search/download program. Like napster, but much niftier.

It has several features, not least of which is one which lets you monitor ongoing searches. This is Important, as...

It opens up a Source of Fun.

Introducing....

The Gnutella Game

  1. Install gnutella.

  2. Go the search monitoring screen. Set the number of searches displayed to something like a 100, so that the whole list is filled.

  3. Things should be going along pretty quickly at this point.

  4. Your goal is to double click on search items so that they pop up in the actual search box.

Scoring:

0.5 Points - Search items _not_ for pr0n.

1 Point - Search items containing "mpg", "mp3", or any other well known audio/video format.

5 Points - Search items for as of yet unreleased audio/video.

10 Points - Search items for religious material.

Game times last a set length (1, 3, 5, or 10 minutes). Points are additive - if you get a non-pr0n mp3 search, it's 1.5 points. Those with the most points win.
