Often referred to as the best sequel ever made. The Godfather Part II is another example of genius filmmaking from Francis Ford Coppola. This movie trails the journey of a young Vito Corleone as he prospers as a mobster in Sicily as well as in New York City in territory, such 1910. It also continues the story of Michael Corleone, as he expands the mob family into new as Cuba, Hollywood and Las Vegas.

Robert De Niro plays young Vito Corleone brilliantly, and he more than deserved the 1974 supporting actor Oscar he received. Most of Vito's dialogue was in Italian, and as of 2001, De Niro is only one of the three people to ever win an Oscar for a role primarily in a foreign language.

Al Pacino resumes his role as Michael Corleone. As the new Don, Michael is as cold as they get. He is never without a deadpan look on his face. Only Pacino could do it.

It won six academy awards in 1974, Best Picture, Best Director (Francis Ford Coppola), Best Screnplay (Francis Ford Coppola and Mario Puzo), Best Supporting Actor (Robert De Niro), Best Score and Best Art Direction/Set Direction.

As of 2001, it is the only sequel to ever win a Best Picture academy award.

Following up a movie like The Godfather is a difficult task. Coppola did it.

Better than the original? Many say so.
