The decrease in solubility caused by the presence of a common ion. There is no such thing as the uncommon ion effect.

Example of common ion effect:

If AgCl is dissolved in water, to form Ag+ and Cl-, the solubility of NaCl to Na+ and Cl- in this solution is much lower than it would be in pure water.
