Vida Blue was a pitcher for the Oakland A´s, San Francisco Giants an Kansas City Royals.

He won the 1971 MVP award and the 1971 Cy Young award.
He was an All Star in 1971, 1975, 1977, 1978, 1980, and 1981.

Vida Blue is also the new band comprised of Page McConell of Phish, Oteil Burbridge of the Allman Brothers and Russell Batiste of the Funky Meters. They will be releasing an album this spring (2002) and playing a supporting tour.

"I think the some of the music we're doing harkens back a little bit to the Seventies and has some of the same textures," said McConell in a Rolling Stone article.
