Named after a tribe of Plains Indians, Wichita is located on the Arkansas River in south central Kansas. Wichita's primary industries include agriculture; aviation including Boeing, Cessna, Raytheon and Learjet; and petrochemical processing.

With a population exceeding 300,000; Wichita is the largest city in the state of Kansas. It is the birthplace of Barry Sanders, Joe Walsh and Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter.
