In May of 1987, two boys went to the Prospect Park Zoo in NYC, and hid until the zoo was closed; their plan was to scale a wall and drop down into the pen where the polar bears were housed, and swim in the polar bear moat. The polar bears didn't care much for the idea; one boy managed to get away. Four police officers shot and killed the polar bears as they tugged on the dead boy's body.

In August of the same year, Rudolph Hess died at the age of 93. Hess was the sole remaining prisoner in Spandau; Baldur von Schirach and Albert Speer were both released in 1966.

After more than 30 years in prison, Hess wrapped one end of an electrical cord around a window latch and the other around his neck.

One dead Nazi.

Two empty cages.

I dunno.

Guess you can't put polar bears in Spandau.
