Chao fan is Mandarin Chinese for "fried rice". One of the many common dishes in various Chinese cuisines. There are many different ways of preparing all kinds of chao fan and it is generally accompanied by some meat (beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, lamb, or vegetarian (with various vegetables or perhaps tofu)). One of the quantifiers of chao fan style, like chao mien, is the greasiness factor.
