チューハイ

Typical alcoholic drink found in japanese nomiya, convenience stores, and liquor stores (sakaya). Chuuhai is short for shochu highball.

Chuuhai is basically a mix of shochu and anything carbonated such as water or juice.

Popular chuuhai include:
lemon
lime

Compare and notice the difference between a chuuhai and a sour; carbonation and non-carbonation.

Chuuhai is usually written fully in katakana, but the "chuu" can be written in kanji which has the meaning of "alcohol". BTW, it is also the kanji that is used in shochu. Japanese fonts are used at the top of this writeup so you might experience mojibake.
