A punny word used mainly on the internet to describe censored versions of words which have all their vowels replaced by asterisks or other characters. For example, f*ck, sh*t, c*nt, etc.

The people on rec.pinball used to do this to names of pinball machines they didn't like, like Dr*c*l*.
