A chemical bond in molecules where two pairs electrons is shared by two atoms. The double bond is typically symbolized in a structural formula by a two closely-spaced parallel lines pointing between the two elemental symbols that are bonded.

Here's an example of a double bond in a structural formula:

H - C - H

ethene (C2H4)
