Latin. "And others." Abbreviated and gender indeterminate form of et alia. Also: et alii (masculine), et aliae (feminine), et alibi (and elsewhere).

Standard usage: as with et cetera, but with people instead of objects: to replace a list of people, naming only the primary individual(s) in a list, such as:

Author or Lawyer Listings.
