A standard unit in some role playing games. It avoids the need for any complicated method of calculating the food used or carried at any given time.

Of course, many traditional (paper based) kinds of RPG abhor such an easy going attitude to food collection and consumption - see Cryptonomicon for a treatise on this. Early computer based RPGs, on the other hand, relied on such simple book-keeping.
