In classical fencing, most lines are defined around the position of the sword or the sword hand. Inside line refers to an attack or parry which moves towards the opposite hand. Inside line parries in classical fencing include 1, 4, 5, and 7, as well as the counter parry from each of those. Additionally, the transitions between many other parries (such as 6 to 8) cover inside line.
