Jump jets are generally found in powered armor or mecha devices.
They provided limited flight capabalities to those equipped. Flight
time and power is based on the available fuel supply available and
design thrust of the unit.

Jump jet is also a colloquialism for a V/STOL jet aircraft such as the AV-8B Harrier or the Yak-36 Forger.
