Buildings which in England (at least) have been marked as having significant architectural heritage or historical interest. English Heritage have the responsibility of deciding which buildings become listed.

There are a number of Grades of listed buildings.

* Grade I buildings are of exceptional interest

* Grade II* are particularly important buildings of more than special interest

* Grade II are of special interest, warranting every effort to preserve them
