Percussion which has to do with keyboard percussion instruments. Mallet percussion instruments include, but are not limited to, a xylophone, marimba, glokenspeil, vibraphone, crotales (maybe), bells, and chimes.
One of the three (or four) main areas that a percussionist should be proficient in, mallet percussion is used in marching bands and drum corps in the form of pit percussion.
