During trial, attorneys may ask the judge for a 'motion to strike' to remove all or part of a witness's testimony, if it violates rules pertaining to admissible evidence.

Can also be requested by the opposing party in answer to a filed complaint or summons, requesting a judge to strike all or part of a legal proceeding from the court's record.
