Roots which arise in a system which are not obvious solutions or caused by a definition or well known nature of part of the system. Ex: Trivial roots occur for the Riemann Zeta Function at -2, -4, -6, ... because of the reciprocal of Gamma in the continuous definition of Zeta; all of the other roots, excuding those which are trivial, are non-trivial.
